06/05/2010ARCHIVEDA Day in the Life of a Creative Placement Team

What a typical day involves...

8.40. Get to work, read emails.  Set aside an hour to work on each existing brief.  Carefully laid plan ruined as emergency brief thrown down by Head of Traffic.  Work for a couple of hours whilst fighting off planners who are “just dropping by to see how it’s going.”

12.00 Summoned by the Creative Director for quick creative review — he likes our work, helps us with a well-placed comment or two. Back to emergency brief, and come up with enough to satisfy the CD before the deadline.

1.30ish. Grab a sandwhich at Pret a Manger for Lunch.

2.00.  Account team review, then snatch an hour to work on a brief or three before rushing off to meet planners for another briefing.

5.30.  Photographers’ books dropped off with the art buyers so nip up to take a look, get some free food, a beer and grab some cool drop cards to pin up in my office, if I had an office.

Work till 7.00, then try to find someone to have a look at our new portfolio ideas, or wander down to the bar to socialise with the other creative teams.
