06/05/2010ARCHIVEDA Day in the Life of a Creative Placement Team

A Creative placement team run us through their last day on placement in an agency

7.00am: Wake up “Bugger! it’s our last day on placement”

8.30am: Get into work and chatting about the days briefs.

9.30am: ECD pops round, is this our big moment? Not today just likes one of our ideas to develop it for client presentation in two hours.

12.30pm: Two layout pads and three hours later the planner collects the work. Back on the briefs.

1.30pm: Break for a homemade sandwich (pennies make pounds). Back on the briefs.
3.00pm: A senior team pop by, said they’ll put a good word.

4.00pm: Times ticking so we try and pick up another brief (seen to be keen).

5.30pm: The PA comes in “You’ve got another month boys”.

5.35pm: Come back down to earth. Start hitting the ideas machines with a renewed motivation.

6.00pm: Catch-up with a CD team at the water cooler, show them some ideas and funny stuff.

Its now very dark pm: Pens down, break for a sugar hit. The usual journey home conversation follows about chances of hiring.

10.00pm: Leave team-mate on the bus. Arrive back at the tower block, no luxuries for a lodger.

11.00pm: Fall asleep watching old episodes of Dad’s Army.
