Criteria for the appointment of IPA Fellowships (FIPAs)

Criteria for appointment:

Fellowship status is in the gift of the IPA Membership Committee/Council, to be conferred upon individuals in recognition of their exceptional, prolonged contribution to the IPA.

A Fellowship should only be awarded to an individual who:

  • is in the employment of a corporate member;
  • and has, ideally, been a MIPA for a minimum of five years (although the Membership Committee/Council has the right to appoint non-MIPAs if their contributions are deemed worthy of the accolade).
  • Honorary Fellowships are reserved for individuals who make an exceptional contribution to the IPA but who are not employed by a member agency and are not MIPAs.

    Criteria for retention:

    A Fellowship is a lifetime award (subject to adherence to the Bye-laws), although Fellows are entitled to resign.

    Ther is no charge for FIPAs whilst they are employed by a member agency. However, once they leave a member agency they would be required to pay an annual fee of £150 (including VAT) should they wish to take advantage of the IPA's Partner Deals and member rates for publications and events.
