Management Summary

Sustainability related issues are increasingly important to consumers and to businesses; they represent some of the most pressing issues facing society. The IPA is committed to development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

The principles of our policy can be summarised in four key areas:

Energy

In the short term we are implementing energy efficiency measures to reduce total consumption. We are also undertaking a feasibility study of renewable energy utilisation and carbon offsetting with the long-term aim of becoming carbon neutral.

Recycling

We are reducing non-renewable waste as much as possible and have appointed London Recycling to assist us with this.

Supply Chain

We are requesting environmental/sustainability policies from all service providers within our supply chain. We will take into account such policies in the selection process for future service provision.

Transport

We have concluded from an analysis of staff transport usage that due to our central location, excellent public transport infrastructure and congestion charges this is not a priority for the IPA.
