• Friends of the Earth — “Global climate change is the single biggest environmental threat facing the planet”. The site addresses the key environmental issues and debates of our time and offers practical advice on ways in which we could all reduce our carbon footprint.

Businesses promoting sustainability:
• Ethical Corporation - An independent publisher and conference organiser launched in 2001 to encourage debate and discussion on responsible business. Ethical Corporation also publishes the new online magazine www.ClimateChangeCorp.com , launched in February 2007.

• The Climate Group - “If nothing is done to stop climate change, economic losses from extreme weather will be larger than global GDP by 2065”. The Climate Group is an independent, nonprofit organisation dedicated to advancing business and government leadership on climate change.

• The Carbon Trust - The Carbon Trust seeks to accelerate the move to a low carbon economy by working with organisations to reduce carbon emissions and develop commercial low carbon technologies.

• Waterwise — “Large scale drought is already occurring in the UK, with the lowest rainfall, groundwater and reservoir levels for decades”. A company whose aim is to reverse the upward trend in how much water individuals use at home and at work by 2010 through the development of a framework to demonstrate the benefits of water efficiency in the UK.
