The 2012 IPA Best of Health Awards, recognised as the top creative advertising awards by healthcare agencies, are now open for entries worldwide until 2nd April. This year the competition sees the introduction of three new categories.

Entries will be accepted in press, out of home, radio, film, DM, mixed media, digital media and international, in addition to the following three new categories:
Integrated Idea - entrants need to demonstrate innovation in their solution to a communication brief through insight into choice of channel(s) for digital platforms, experiential, social media, or any other.
Local Innovation - entrants need to demonstrate how an agency team (covering creative, account, planning, production and management) endeavours to creatively promote a global idea in a local market.
The Young Talent Award - this is open to nominations from member agencies only. Nominees will be contacted to enter in early February.
All three new Awards will be judged by an independent judging panel, made up of: Convenor of Judges, Harry Armfield, Open Health; Chairman of Judges, Justin Tindall, Group Executive Creative Director, Leo Burnett; International Judge Jeremy Perott, Worldwide Creative Director, McCann Healthcare Worldwide; and members of the IPA Council that have international business outside the healthcare sector, including Jane Asscher, Chairman and Partner, 23red.
The other entries will be judged by the following panel of healthcare professionals, overseen by the Awards Convenor and Chairman of Judges:

Last year Langland was awarded ‘Best of Show’ for advertising to consumers, for its ‘www.questival.co.uk’ campaign for Bayer HealthCare, an interactive website that provides important information for teenagers and young adults with hemophilia, and McCann Healthcare Sydney was awarded ‘Best of Show’ for advertising to healthcare professionals for their ‘Rational Explanation’ campaign for Pfizer, a mixed media campaign that encourages healthcare professionals to screen elderly patients for Alzheimer’s during routine consultations, so that it can be detected in its early stages.
