Agencies: connect early with future talent

For your chance to be one of the first to connect with the future talent of our industry, why not sign up and get involved in the 2012 IPA Ad School and host a short work placement for a student at your agency over the summer?

The IPA Ad School attracts fresh talent into the industry and offers students a real introduction to agency life by providing them with the experience that can prove crucial in getting a job and in launching their careers.

The 2012 School is looking for agencies for both their creative and client service/planning programmes. Benefits for participating agencies include the chance to:

• Connect early with up and coming student talent.
• Add an enthusiastic and ambitious set of students to your team.
• Bring new talent into our industry.
• Raise the profile of the industry and the specialist sectors within it, as students will act as industry ambassadors upon their return to university.

The Ad School will run from 2nd July 2012 and will last for eight weeks. In addition to the work placement, the Ad School will also provide the students with a series of evening seminars and social events to provide the opportunity to meet their peers, see other agencies and meet industry experts.

For the first time the IPA Ad School has introduced a Search Programme which will offer students an extensive insight into the Search industry. More information will be available on this soon.

Says Nicola Mendelsohn, IPA President and Executive Chairman, Karmarama: “The IPA Ad School provides our industry with an incredible opportunity to showcase our worth to students, to invest in bright, young people and to discover the stars of the future. I greatly encourage all agencies to get involved.”

Says Chris Whitson, Planning Partner, SFW and Co-Founder of the IPA Ad School: “Talent and the development of future talent is at the very top of the IPA agenda. As the diversity of opportunities available to the most talented young people of today continues to increase it is incumbent on us to promote a career in our industry as an exciting and viable option.  The IPA Ad School aims to do just that by giving young people a chance to experience agency life as well as accessing the best knowledge available through evening seminars given by the industry’s leading practitioners.”

Says Neil Francis, Creative Partner, SFW and Co-Founder of the IPA Ad School: “There’s a huge pool of talent out there that agencies are missing out on -  people who come from different academic and social backgrounds to the people we’re used to seeing -  and with different life stories. The Ad School provides a great way to tap into this pool of talent.”
