Ogilvy Healthworld and DDB Remedy take top prizes at 2008 Best of Health Awards

Ogilvy Healthworld Advertising and DDB Remedy Sydney were awarded the most prestigious ‘Best of Show’ awards at the IPA’s 2008 Best of Heath Awards and Summer Party, held last night (3rd July) at The Conservatory, Royal Hospital in Chelsea.

Ogilvy Healthworld Advertising and DDB Remedy Sydney were awarded the most prestigious ‘Best of Show’ awards at the IPA’s 2008 Best of Heath Awards and Summer Party, held last night (3rd July) at The Conservatory, Royal Hospital in Chelsea.

The Best of Health Awards showcase and reward the best in creativity in healthcare advertising from all mediums including: direct, press, poster, radio, TV, new and mixed media. From the 328 entries in this year’s competition, 11 silvers and 71 bronzes were awarded, as well as the two ‘Best of Show’ awards and special prizes for best use of art direction, photography, copywriting and illustration. The creative work will be published in a winners’ supplement by Pharmafocus Magazine.

Ogilvy Healthworld Advertising was awarded the ‘Best of Show Award for advertising to Healthcare Professionals’, for their ‘Person Within’ press advertisement for Invega, a medicine that treats schizophrenia. The ad features a woman shedding her outer layer of skin, to reveal her ‘person within’.

DDB Remedy from Sydney, Australia was awarded ‘Best of Show Award for advertising to Consumers’, for their Impotence Australia ‘Little Fella’ TV commercial. The ad features a man being followed around and ignoring a miniature version of himself - his ‘little fella’, which draws men’s attention to the possibility of suffering erectile dysfunction if they ignore health issues.

Says Kate Stanners, Chairman of judges and Creative Partner of Saatchi & Saatchi, “From an outsider’s point of view, it was refreshing to see that the work in healthcare competes with the best of the rest. Congratulations to all the winners.”

Says Orrin Pollard, Convenor of judges and Creative Director of DDB Health (UK), “Every year the IPA Best of Health Awards seem to present a couple of ‘gems’ and this year is no exception. The campaigns from both Ogilvy Healthworld and DDB Remedy are more than worthy of the ‘Best of Show’ awards. Ogilvy Healthworld’s ‘Person within’ is a refreshingly striking example of art direction at its best and DDB’s impotence campaign ‘Little Fella’, is an amusing yet poignant reminder of what could happen if, as men too often tend to do, pay scant regard to their health. Congratula-tions to all of the winners. The bar has been set. Let’s push it higher.”
