The IPA is today (1st February) alerting its members to the European Commission’s proposals to create a new EU Data Protection Regulation to replace the 1995 Directive. The new Regulation is stricter than existing law and could have a significant impact on businesses in the UK if implemented in its current form.

Says Richard Lindsay, Legal Director, IPA: “The new Regulation would take several years to put in place, but the IPA, together with the Advertising Association, will be informing UK government of its concerns as soon as possible in the hope that the government will take a strong stance on the Regulation in Europe."
