CPD - What counts as eligible activity?

This list clarifies what may and may not be registered as CPD activity for IPA members. Qualifying activities are those that answer a specific need of developing and improving an individual's knowledge and skills over and above what they acquire in the course of learning on the job by carrying out their salaried work.

Activities you can record as CPD

Every agency has its own ethos and unique set of business goals, so each individual's CPD requirements will be different, driven both by your agency's goals and your own individual appraisal and development needs that stem from these goals. Therefore there is no specified percentage split in terms of accredited courses and other activities, nor by category.

The following list provides examples of what may be registered as CPD and what does not qualify as CPD in order to guide members. Qualifying activities are broadly anything you have done to develop yourself or another member of your agency: for example, courses, qualifications, teaching internally, reading business books, mentoring, being appraised, conducting appraisals, coaching, speaking at a business conference, lectures, taking part in the agency's welcome programme.
