RSS at the IPA

Click on the RSS button on any page and copy the URL in the browser window. You then simply need to past that URL in the ‘add the feed’ or ‘add the page’ feature in whichever feed reader or ‘aggregator’ you are using, such as My Yahoo, Google or Bloglines, for which you will need to first set up an account. FeedBurner.com has a list of RSS Readers (keep existing link) you can use.

The Firefox browser handles RSS feeds as ‘Live Bookmarks’ so that option will appear for you each time you click on an RSS feed address and the browser handles the process for you. IE7 handles feeds directly through the ‘Favourites Centre’ so, again, you don’t even need an external reader. However, be aware that web browsers such as Firefox and IE7 are machine-specific so, like all of your other bookmarks, will only be available to you on that machine.

If you wish to read an external RSS feed on the IPA site, we have built an RSS Reader capability for you. You can do this copying the URL of the feed you’re interested in (by following the process above) and then going to ‘My IPA’, then ‘Add new Items’ and pasting that same URL into the ‘Add RSS Feed box.’ Whenever you return to the IPA site, that content will have been automatically updated in your ‘My IPA’ area.
