Hertfordshire Constabulary: Police Officer Recruitment - IPA Effectiveness Awards Case Study 2004

Brief Description: This paper examines the recruitment crisis faced by Hertfordshire Constabulary in 2000 and outlines how a local marketing campaign, based on local insight about the Force and its appeal, led to a spectacular turn around in both the level and nature of recruitment. The paper demonstrates that the achievement is clearly attributable to local activity. The resulting benefits to Hertfordshire have been broad, by far the most significant being a marked improvement in crime detection and other performance indicators ;---(TAGS)--- Full Title: Police Officer Recruitment - how thinking globally put Hertfordshire Constabularly on the national stage ; Number: 2004/45 ; Brand Name: Hertfordshire Constabulary ; Client: Hertfordshire Constabulary ; IPA_ProductCoding: Government Departments (Public service recruitment - armed forces, police etc.) ; Health & Social Services (Emergency services) ; Agency: Bernard Hodes Group ; Author: Helen Rosethorn, Marc Rothman, Martin Homent, Cathy Reid, John Wardle ;
