We were all beginners once, as this project from Beattie McGuinness Bungay sets out to demonstrate.
They asked a sample of now-successful creatives to dust off their first portfolios and share some of their earliest work with the world.
The result is Beforetheywerefamous.org, an online gallery showcasing the student scamps and juvenile scribblings of Trevor Beattie (ECD at BMB), Dave Buonaguidi (Founder and Chief Creative Officer at Karmarama), Flo Heiss (Founder/Creative Director at Dare I Say?) and many others.
It's the brainchild of Lol and Nat, Senior Creatives/Head of Placements at BMB and Paul and Darryl, a young team on the placement circuit, who wanted to show aspiring creatives that practice really does make perfect and encourage them to keep at it.
The site also shows how much portfolios have changed, they say: "The work speaks for itself - no need for those long case study videos or Facebook user-journeys. Just quick, lateral ideas that jump off the page."
