Twenty-seven creative companies from China, as well as Chinese Government officials, will be coming to the UK in September for the Going Global - Advertising Works UK China 2010 Conference, organised by the IPA, to showcase the UK ad industry and what it can offer Chinese brands wanting to go global.

The event, in partnership with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), is aimed at senior representatives from Chinese brands, advertising agencies, Government and anyone interested in the creative industries. A further 25 Chinese businesses already represented in the UK will also be attending.

It follows an IPA-led trade mission to Shanghai in May in which eight member agency heads promoted the world-class reputation of the UK ad sector, and marks the next step in the IPA’s ‘Creative Britain’ initiative to position the UK as a creative hub to the world.

The programme for the Going Global - Advertising Works UK China 2010 Conference can be downloaded here. It forms part of the London Design Festival and takes place on Thursday 23rd September at the V&A’s Sackler Centre, South Kensington, London. It is free to attend but places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Says Rory Sutherland, IPA President, Vice-Chairman, Ogilvy Group UK: “The IPA showcase at the V&A is a great way to celebrate and promote UK advertising at the London Design Festival.  It complements our relations established this year with China and further demonstrates how we can be the perfect creative hub for those Chinese brand owners seeking to expand beyond Asia, given our leading role in marrying creativity with effectiveness."
