Booking details for the Fast Strategy Conference on 1st October 2008. Says Guy Murphy, Chairman IPA Strategy Group, “The most important skill that strategists need to learn in this era is speed. The quality of a strategic answer is now partly determined by the time taken to create it. Slow-baked strategy, no matter how good, can never be great.”

You can discuss the event and concept of fast strategy at the Fast Strategy Forum

After the success of its first conference on ‘Fast Strategy’ the IPA Strategy Group, with News International, is to host a follow-up conference on the 1st October. The conference will address one of the greatest pressures on our industry today; the demands of arriving at good answers fast. The conference will test strategy-at-speed and examine ways in which ‘Fast Strategy’ can benefit the communications industry.

During the conference, leading communications experts including Kate Stanners, Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi, Amelia Torode, Planning Director at VCCP, and Dave Trott, Creative Director at Chick Smith Trott, with the teams (of their choice), will compete against each other to answer a live brief. The contestants will have no previous knowledge of this brief and will then pitch their ideas - on stage that afternoon - for the audience to judge who the fastest strategist is.

Throughout the morning, whilst the teams prepare for their afternoon pitch, leading strategists from across the industry will elaborate on how developing strategy fast is changing the way we do business and present top tips for how they think at speed.

Speakers include:

Adam Morgan, Founder, Eat Big Fish

Rita Clifton, Chairman, Interbrand

Orlando Hooper-Greenhill, Director of Global Planning, JWT

Richard Storey, Chief Strategy Officer, M&C Saatchi

Sarah Bussey, Strategic Planning Consultant, IPA

Jeremy Griffin, Head of News, TimesOnline
