Congratulations go to Trinity Communications Partner Amy Lennox, who won the British Council’s first Young Creative Entreprenuer Award this week (22nd February).
The Young Communications Entrepreneur Award recognises the potential of an individual, aged between 25 and 35, working within the communications industry, to be a future leader of the sector in the UK and internationally.
As a nominee for the award, Amy took part in a two week tour of India in early November 2009, along with the three other finalists, where she met with young Indian communications entrepreneurs, and leading figures from India's communications industry. Following the trip, Amy and the other nominees were asked to give a presentation on their findings and to propose an idea for a potential partnership with a business in India.
Amy was chosen as winner of the Young Communications Entrepreneur Award by a panel of judges from the UK communications industry including Nicole Yershon Director, Innovative Solutions at Ogilvy Group and the IPA’s Director of Professional Development, Patrick Mills.
Said Patrick Mills, Judge of the Awards and Director of Professional Development, IPA: “I was flattered to be asked to judge this competition, and thrilled by the quality of the presentations. It is fantastic to see so many innovative creative businesses doing well in the current economic climate. It was a close call in the end, but Amy (Lennox) was a worthy winner.”
Said Nicole Yershon, Director, Innovative Solutions: “We met three wonderfully creative and inspiring finalists but Amy stood out with her transparency, ability to set up and run her own business and pure entreprenurial spirit. She shared learnings from her visit to India that taught the judges a few interesting facts. It was a pleasure to be part of this experience.”
Said Amy Lennox, Partner, Trinity: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be given this award, and to have the opportunity for Trinity to establish a relationship with a business in India. I hope to use the prize money to forge a link with a search business with an understanding of our consumer-led approach to Pay-Per-Click and who might eventually become our partner for all implementational PPC activity.”
As the winner of the award, Amy and Trinity Communications will receive £5,000, which she will use to visit India with a view to establishing a partnership with a search business, to implement and manage consumer-insight driven Pay-Per-Click campaigns for Trinity’s clients.
