The IPA has launched a series of Production Talks taking place on Thursday evenings from March to October 2017.
With the role of the agency producer ever expanding, these talks aim to help inform and inspire the craft of production. We hear from experts using the latest technology, covering areas such as Virtual Reality Production, experiential events, through to practical issues such as filming fully integrated campaigns and filming in London.
The talks provide an opportunity to hear about the latest trends over a glass of wine and ask questions of the experts currently working in these fields.
Thursday 27th July: Digital-film Data - shooting, working with and storing new celluloid - a talk by Kieren O’Brien, Film Locker
Agency producers are inherently responsible for the digital-film data as it passes through the production process, and whilst your client “owns” every frame, under the terms of your client contracts they expect the agency to secure and protect all their material on their behalf.
This talk will give producers guidance, assistance and a working framework. You need to take care of your material, keep track of it and make sure it is secure up to a basic level. Many mistakes currently occur but a simple process will minimise the effect on you.
We will cover: The Shoot, Post-Production and Archiving & Security.
Topics for the following talks will be added nearer the time:
- Thursday 7th Sep
- Thursday 26th October
Registration will begin at 6.00pm, followed by drinks and the talk will commence at 6.30pm and end by 8.00pm.
Please note, bookings requesting to be paid by invoice will incur a 10% administration fee.
