Chief Executive Officer

Rick was appointed CEO of mcgarrybowen in 2013 and has led the business through its greatest phase of growth. In 2014 the agency won 8 out of 10 pitches adding clients including Sky Bet, Pernod Ricard, Western Union & Bridgestone Tyres. 2014 also saw the agency land their first ever Gold Lion at Cannes for their ‘Illusions’ work on the Honda CR-V. Rick joined mcgarrybowen from Engine where he was Client Services Director and ran a number of their biggest clients including BMW and News International. Before Engine, Rick worked at Bartle Bogle Hegarty leading the global Unilever Lynx business, Fallon where he made the multi award-winning “like.no.other” campaign for Sony and both Lowe & CheethamBell where he started his career checking product brochure copy for the football brand Umbro. Prior to advertising Rick trained as a lawyer and fondly remembers the decision to not pursue a career in Law as his ‘best ever’. Rick begrudgingly knows all the words to Frozen thanks to his three kids and at the weekend (when not watching Frozen) you’ll find surgically attached to his bike in the Chilterns

CEO

Dan left Oxford with a degree in French and Spanish, the beginnings of a beard, and no real idea what he wanted to do with his life. He flirted with publishing, but ended up as a grad at O&M, before spending the majority of his career at DLKW and glue Isobar. In 2011, with the beard now a permanent fixture, Dan founded Creature of London, alongside Ed Warren, Ben Middleton and Stu Outhwaite, and is now Managing Partner of one of the fastest growing agencies in London. A Suit by trade, he's most proud of the Political Broadcasts he's written for the Green party, and the fact that he's managed to get The Backstreet Boys into every single RFI he's written at Creature.

Managing Director

Rob has always been thrilled by advertising and was lucky enough to join a local design and print company at the age of 16 (having decided a move to Cumbria with his family was not one of his career goals). At 19, he was poached by their largest client, Blitz, a then subsidiary of Holmes and Marchant. After spending two years there, Rob felt he could deliver a much more effective marketing and advertising service and founded Hunterlodge Advertising in 1987. Rob has significantly grown the company over the years and is rated as platinum by the IPA sharing the enviable position with only 11 other agencies across the UK. He sits as Co-Chair on the IPA’s Professional Development Group leading the industry in helping set and achieve its new vision - to turn advertising into a profession over the next ten years. Rob was also granted an IPA Fellowship in April 2016. Rob’s obsession for effectiveness has kept him on track to make Hunterlodge the most effective agency in the UK by 2016. This has been possible by ensuring all his team share his unquenchable thirst for knowledge, ensuring even his most knowledgeable and highly skilled people are pushed to unique levels of excellence. The company has a simple purpose – to make effective advertising accessible to all clients.
