1119 pass 2017 IPA Foundation Certificate

1119 adlanders have passed the award-winning IPA Foundation Certificate, the industry’s rite of passage qualification aimed at graduates and practitioners with up to one year’s agency experience.

Key facts:

  • 153 agencies spanning all disciplines took the exam
  • 20 clients, including King’s College London and UKTV took the exam
  • In total 1189 sat the exam (with 1119 passes)
  • 120 were distinctions
  • 517 were passes with credit
  • 482 were passes 

Says Patrick Mills, Director of Professional Development, “To have such high delegate numbers for the IPA’s Foundation Certificate is testament to how vital this qualification has become for all those starting their careers in the industry. It is exciting to see so many young people starting out on their journey to professional accreditation. Congratulations to all the candidates for their great achievements.”

All candidates who have passed the 2017 IPA Foundation Certificate will be invited to a party on 12th July to celebrate. The IPA will also be paying tribute to them in the advertising press to coincide with the party.

The Foundation Certificate involves the completion of a comprehensive course, delivered online, followed by a two-hour examination. This took place in February 2017 in assessment centres around the UK. 

Since its inception over 10,000 industry practitioners have passed the Foundation Certificate and over 12,000 people have passed an IPA qualification in the UK. 

The Foundation Certificate has been taken in Australia, Asia, the USA and MENA and IPA qualifications have now been adopted globally across 60 countries. 

The IPA Foundation Certificate counts towards the IPA’s Accredited MIPA scheme. Accredited MIPA is a new initiative designed in the long run to put advertising on the same professional footing as accountancy, architecture and the law. A rigorous, qualifications-based accreditation programme from the IPA that’s going to be widely recognised and respected.

It’s part of the IPA’s Continuous Professional Development scheme encouraging agencies to provide development opportunities for employees to help build their expertise and enhance their skills. More information.
