126 Adlanders advance their careers through IPA qualification
126 industry practitioners have passed the IPA’s Advanced Certificate, a ten month online learning programme and qualification for individuals of all disciplines to gain a depth and breadth of understanding in communications planning and implementation.
The successful candidates were awarded their certificates by Moray MacLennan, IPA President and Chairman Europe, M&C Saatchi, and by Jim Marshall, Chair, IPA Media Futures Group and Chairman, Starcom MediaVest at an IPA ceremony held recently (9th July 2008).
At the presentation Jim Marshall reminded the audience of former IPA President Stephen Woodford’s agenda who introduced professional examined qualifications to the advertising and communications agency industry. The Advanced Certificate was developed as collaboration between the IPA’s Media Futures and Professional Development Groups.
Said Jim Marshall, “The objective for the programme was and still is to provide a bridge from trainee to experienced practitioner in the challenging field of communi-cations planning and implementation. Also, to provide depth and breadth of understanding about the increasingly complex media world through practical and recent case studies.”
Of the 160 individuals who started the learning in March 2007:
• 126 successfully completed it and passed the exam.
• 13 passed
• 95 gained a Pass with Credit
• 18 gained a Pass with Distinction
• Three quarters came from media specialist agencies.
• The remaining quarter came from across creative and digital agencies.
