Running from 1st July – 23rd August 2013, the school  is unique, with successful students not only spending eight weeks being immersed in agency life, but also completing a group project and attending weekly evening sessions.  There are three strands: Client Services & Planning, Creative, and Search.

351 applications were received from students in their penultimate year and above, as well as graduates.

As part of the process, entrants completed a Diagonal Thinking self-assessment, testing both Linear and Lateral thinking. They also answered entry questions relevant to the strand they were applying. Shortlisted candidates were then called for an interview at the IPA.

Says Chris Whitson, Planning Partner, VCCPme and co-founder of the IPA Ad School, “The Ad School is now in its seventh year and continues to attract more and more student applications.  It was designed to give the best undergraduate talent the chance not only to experience life in a top agency but also learn real skills and theory for the leading practitioners.  Graduation from the school gives students a real head start as they attempt to find a full-time role in the industry and competition is fierce.  The quality of entries this year was first class and every student who made it through to interview should feel proud of their achievements.  The students awarded a place demonstrated exceptional skills, and I look forward to working with each one of them this summer”.
