2013 Women of Tomorrow shortlist announced

Twenty-seven names have been shortlisted for the IPA and Campaign’s Women of Tomorrow Awards. The nominees came from a cross section of disciplines including media planning, brand management, creative and media buying.

The 10 winners, chosen by a panel of ‘Women of Today’ alongside the editor of Marketing, Claire Beale, will be announced on 6th March at a champagne breakfast event at the IPA offices, to coincide with International Women’s Day on the 8th March.The Awards are a first for adland and champion these women in middle management identified as the female industry leaders of the future.

The Telegraph Media Group’s new Wonder Woman website channel and Stylist magazine are media partners for the initiative.

Says Glenda Marchant, Publishing Director, Stylist: “Stylist is a magazine that champions women, so when we heard about the Women Of Tomorrow awards we felt compelled to get involved. Advertising and the media have always been progressive industries for women but it is imperative that female talent continues to get the support and opportunities it deserves; these awards will help to showcase this talent – and the Stylist team are thrilled to be involved.”

Says Emma Barnett, Women's Editor, The Telegraph: “Being a ‘Woman of Tomorrow’ – nominee or winner – is important and inspirational. All too often reports say the ‘talent pipeline’ is broken as a way of explaining why there are still so few women running Britain’s companies. Awards like these recognise talent on the way up, at a really crucial stage in a woman's career. Congratulations to all the women shortlisted.”
