2014 Creative Pioneers Challenge to target school leavers nationwide during National Apprenticeship Week

The 2014 IPA/Metro Creative Pioneers Challenge (CPC) which offers school leavers the opportunity for creative apprenticeships will kick off with a series of nationwide events on Monday 3rd March to coincide with the first day of National Apprenticeship Week.

27/02/2014

The award-winning 2014 Creative Pioneers Challenge will offer over 100 apprenticeships to school leavers at 50 top advertising, PR, digital marketing and media businesses.

At the launch events, to be held in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol, any 16-23-year-olds thinking about their career options will be able to find out more about the scheme, meet creative industry employers and training providers, talk to current Creative Pioneers Challenge apprentices, and find out how to apply. (Full details are available below.*)

Says Janet Hull OBE, Executive Director, Creative Pioneers Challenge & IPA Director of Marketing, “We hope this nationwide hunt for digital and creative talent will help push apprenticeships into the mainstream and make our industry more accessible. We want young people from any background to enter; it’s not just about qualifications, it’s about having the right mindset and attitude. We know how tough it is to get a foot in the door of the creative industries and Creative Pioneers is a terrific opportunity for young people to take that first step on the ladder and kick start their career.”

Says Anna Byers, National Apprenticeship Service Employer Account Manager for London and the South East: “I’m delighted to see IPA celebrating apprentices and recognising the great benefits of developing a motivated and skilled new workforce. In today’s economic climate it is more important than ever to encourage ambition and support young people to develop fulfilling careers. Apprenticeships do just this, providing a way to earn while you learn in a real job, gaining a real qualification and offering a promising future in their chosen career path.”
