Deadline approaches for Best of Health Awards

This is your chance to enter the IPA Best of Health Awards, which showcase the best creativity in healthcare advertising; a sector which embraces the promotion of brands to both healthcare professionals and consumers. This is your chance to enter the IPA Best of Health Awards, which showcase the best creativity in healthcare advertising; a sector which embraces the promotion of brands to both healthcare professionals and consumers. The closing date for entries is 17th April and entry details can be found at www.bestofhealthawards.ipa.co.uk

The Awards, which have been running for 16 years, are recognised as the top creative awards by healthcare advertising agencies, as they are the only ones given entirely by peers in the industry.

Entries are invited from all mediums including: press, poster, radio, TV, sales materials, direct marketing, new and mixed media, as well as campaigns which have been created for international implementation.

The 2009 Chairman of Judges is Dave Trott, Creative Director, Chick Smith Trott and the Convenor of Judges is Adrian Parr, Creative Director, Torre Lazur McCann.

Says Dave Trott, “Not all great ideas cost a million pounds to shoot or have a multi-million pound media budget. That is why I am looking forward to witnessing first hand how healthcare creatives rise to this challenge.”

Says Adrian Parr, who is keen to raise the bar higher by making the winners truly world class, “Once again the most important creative awards are upon us. Where 12 good men and true will sit in a room for a day pouring over the very best work healthcare has to offer. The entries last year were won by both domestic and international players. I am looking forward to more international work being entered this year so I would urge agencies, especially those in networks, to throw open their doors and invite their overseas cousins to enter their best creative work.”

The 2009 Awards will once again recognise two ‘Best of Show’ awards, one specifically for advertising to healthcare professionals, and another for advertising to consumers. The 2008 ‘Best of Show – Healthcare Professional’ went to Ogilvy Healthworld Advertising for their ‘Person Within’ press advertisement for Invega (as pictured); whilst the ‘2008 Best of Show – Consumer’ went to DDB Remedy from Sydney, Australia for their Impotence Australia ‘Little Fella’ TV commercial.

The winners will be announced at the Awards party at Gilgamesh in Camden in the summer.
