Industry experts to analyse how Social works

Leading clients and agencies are to showcase effective creativity in social media, uncovering what’s working, how, and what metrics are capturing its effects, as part of the IPA’s Eff Fest: how creativity drives business, on 15th October.

The ‘#IPASocialWorks’ session of the Eff Fest, in partnership with The Marketing Society and The Market Research Society and sponsored by Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter, will bring to life the first stage of cross-industry research into establishing a relationship between social media activity and solid business metrics, in order to help agencies better understand and measure the power of social in their campaigns. It’s the start of the project with a subsequent call for robust social ROI case studies to add to those already uncovered by the project so far.

The session will be chaired and introduced by Stephen Maher, CEO, MBA and Chairman of The Marketing Society, followed by Fran Cassidy, Founder, Cassidy Media Partnership who will outline highlights from the research. It will also include case studies from Chris MacLeod, Marketing Director, Transport for London and Joanna Howard, General Manager, Customer Service, BT and conclude with a panel discussion featuring the speakers alongside Paddy Barwise from the London Business School, and Mark Earls of Herd Consulting.

The session forms part of the Eff Fest, a provocative and inspirational one-day conference that will focus on how creativity drives business. It will challenge conventional thinking on the value of creativity and celebrate how it contributes to the bottom line, and will cover how creative thinking can be applied to all aspects of a business to give it a commercial advantage: from business strategy, to consumer insight, to organisation design, as well as social media. Leading creative thinkers from inside and outside of the advertising industry such as: Mary Portas, Portas; culinary creatives Bompas and Parr; Mark Earls, Herd Consulting; Stephen Maher, MBA; Phil Barden, Decode and Alex Bentley, Professor of Anthropology, Bristol University will discuss how creativity drives successful innovation, organisation and employee engagement.
