PHD Media was ranked number 18. Their submission highlights their many innovative ways to engage staff including a "get on with everyone at work" workshop to help staff understand what makes them and their workmates tick. As a result, their employees share a strong sense of family and feel that colleagues have their best interests at heart.

MEC UK was ranked at number 44. Employees show confidence in the leadership skills of the senior management team and are inspired by chief executive Steve Hatch. Staff can leave work at 3.15pm on Fridays during the summer and get paid to have their birthday off. Other perks include profit-related pay, free private healthcare, childcare vouchers, half-price gym membership and an on-site GP and beautician.

Bartle Bogle Hegarty was ranked at number 51. Their submission reveals that their employees care a lot about each other and there is a lack of disruptive people in their teams. It is also an advertising industry leader in providing flexible working arrangements for its staff — all geared around retaining the best people and maintaining their creative edge.

Engine was ranked at number 53. Learning opportunities at Engine include job swaps, new internal workshops and training events run by the firm's top talent, and the annual Engine leaders programme for future stars. Some of the agency's most senior management started as interns or graduate trainees.

Carat was ranked at number 62. Their submission reveals that employees have fun with their colleagues and think the experience they gain is valuable for their future. Strong leadership from senior management is driven by chief executive Tracy De Groose who has invested heavily in staff-related initiatives, particularly training schemes such as a fast-track leadership programme.

Starcom Mediavest Group ranked at number 87. Its submission reveals that supporting staff with an industry-leading learning and development plan is at the heart of its success. Employees see the training available as of great personal benefit, covering core skills, such as presentation and negotiation, as well as parenting courses and lessons in mindfulness.
