IPA appoints Leeson as new Regional Chairman
The IPA has appointed Mike Leeson, Managing Director of Golley Slater, as its Regional Chairman for the next two years. Leeson’s role will be to provide a forum for the IPA’s 90-plus regional members, co-ordinate the information arising from a programme of seven annual regional meetings held around the country and report to the IPA’s quarterly Council meetings.
Leeson has 20 years’ experience of the advertising industry, including eight years delivering high-profile ad campaigns at Golley Slater for clients such as the Army and Mitsubishi Motors.
His aim as Regional Chairman is to raise the profile of the IPA and what it can do in the regions. “There is some fantastic work originating in advertising agencies based beyond the M25,” Leeson said. “I want to showcase that work and bring a greater understanding to clients of the very real benefits of regional agencies.”
Two immediate initiatives will involve setting up a regional training forum to be staged in Northern Ireland, Manchester and London; and to develop new networking opportunities for heads of regional IPA member agencies.
Leeson takes over from James Goddard, chairman of the JJ Group, who becomes honorary secretary of the IPA.
