IPA appoints TNS Media and RSMB to deliver new TouchPoints Survey
The IPA has confirmed the appointment of the two main suppliers on its new consumer centric multi-media survey, IPA TouchPoints: TNS Media will undertake the main survey work and RSMB will undertake the integration process.
The publication of the first data is expected in November 2005.
The IPA TouchPoints initiative is a groundbreaking project which will give users their first consumer centric overview of all media usage by acting as a hub for the integration of the current industry currencies and other media surveys. The project is the brainchild of the IPA Media Futures Group, which is underwriting the project, and has ten media owner founding partners: AOL, BBC, Chrysalis, JC Decaux, The Guardian, ITV, News International, SMG and Wanadoo.
Said Lynne Robinson, IPA Research Director: “We are delighted the project is now underway. We have received tremendous support from the industry and we are looking forward to delivering the ground breaking project before the end of the year.”
Said Jennie Beck, Head of TNS Media: “The industry has been waiting a long time for a genuinely cross-platform approach to measuring media behaviour and involvement. The TouchPoints concept has the potential to revolutionise media planning - not just in the UK, but globally – and TNS Media is really pleased to be playing an important part in its creation.”
Said Steve Wilcox, RSMB Managing Director: “RSMB has 20 years experience of data integration and modelling for media planning applications and TouchPoints is one of the most exciting developments in which we have been involved. We're delighted to be working with the IPA on this important project.”
