IPA elects new members - 13th March 2009

At its quarterly Council meeting on 12th March 2009, the IPA elected five agencies; Addiction, Grey Healthcare, Sense Worldwide, Syzvgy UK and Wunderman, into membership. This brings the total number of IPA member agencies to 263.

At its quarterly Council meeting on 12th March 2009, the IPA elected five agencies; Addiction, Grey Healthcare, Sense Worldwide, Syzvgy UK and Wunderman, into membership. This brings the total number of IPA member agencies to 263.

Addiction

Addiction Group is a branding and advertising agency, established in 2001. Based in Charlotte Street, London, it employs a team of 40 and is privately owned. Their clients include B&Q, Thomas Cook, Friends Reunited and Universal.

Says Jeremy Rainbird, CEO, “The initial approach was made as we sought to add the status and credibility of IPA membership to our unique and innovative offering. We have since been thoroughly impressed with the wider range of benefits, professional support available and the effect of the cultural changes that the IPA will have on our agency."

Grey Healthcare

Grey Healthcare is a healthcare agency and was established in 1979. Based in London, it employs 20 members of staff and is owned by the WPP group. Their clients include Bayer Schering, Novo Nordisk and Johnson & Johnson.

Says Michel Dubery, Managing Director, “Membership of the IPA gives Grey Healthcare access to some excellent professional services: professional development; legal; HR and finance. It also allows us through the healthcare committee to raise and discuss issues that are of importance industry wide. Finally through the Best of
Health awards there is the opportunity to recognise the high quality of work that we all aspire to.”

Sense Worldwide

As a master planning agency, Sense Worldwide has been in the business of insight, innovation and planning since 1999. Based in London and privately owned, it employs around 20 people, as well as managing the Sense Network, a global group of over 1,800 creative thinkers and doers who co-create and provide insight and input to client briefs. Their clients include Diageo, Johnson & Johnson and Discovery Channel.

Says Nick Corston, Managing Director, “Committed to best practice and the nurturing of our people, we expect to benefit significantly from the range of services offered by the IPA which will also help us develop the master planning proposition to help clients build brands by getting maximum value from their roster of agencies.”

Syzygy

Syzygy is a digital agency, established in 1995. Based in London, it employs over 100 members of staff and is part-owned by WPP. Their clients include HSBC, De Beers, Orange and Mazda.

Says Gareth Phillips, Managing Director, "We have adopted a ‘learning equals work’ style and feel that the IPA can deliver continuing education in the most efficient and targeted manner. In addition, we feel that IPA certification is desirable for our business.”

Wunderman

Wunderman is the UK’s largest direct agency and was established in 1964. Based in London, it employs 383 members of staff and is owned by WPP. Their clients include Microsoft, Ford and P&G.

Says Brendan Tansey, CEO, "Joining the IPA ensures we keep abreast of the latest trends in the industry. It will avail us of the world class services and training provided by the IPA and enable us to access best practice on personnel management and other issues.
