IPA elects new members - 6th September 2007
At its quarterly Council Meeting (6th September 2007), the IPA elected five agencies into membership. The elected agencies are: AVC Brand Advertising (a full-service agency), Goodstuff Communications (a planning communications agency), Isle of Man Advertising & PR (a full service agency), Spannerworks (a search agency) and The 7 Stars (a media planning and buying agency). Of these five agencies, two are London based, one is based in Brighton, one is based in Scotland and one is based on the Isle of Man.
This brings the total number of IPA members to 269.
AVC Brand Advertising
Founded in 1998, AVC Brand Advertising is a full service agency based in Aberdeen, Scotland. It employs eight members of staff and is chaired by Keith Main. Spencer Buchan and Graeme Davidson are the directors and Sandy Sinclair is non-executive director. Their clients include the John Clark Group, Aberdeen College and Aberdeen Journals.

Goodstuff Communcations LLP
Founded in June 2004, Goodstuff Communications is a planning communications agency based in London that employs 12 staff. Andrew Stephens and Ben Hayes are Partners and Simon Wilden is Planning Partner. Their clients include Virgin Media, Dr Martens and Ann Summers.

Isle of Man Advertising & PR Limited
Founded in 1986, Isle of Man Advertising & PR Limited is a full-service agency based on The Isle of Man. It employs 16 staff. Philip Summerscales is Chairman and Helen Summerscales is Managing Director. Their clients include Isle of Man Government, Bradford & Bingley International and Fairbairn Private Bank.
Said Helen Summerscales, “As we celebrate our 21st birthday we feel it is an appropriate moment to join the IPA. Becoming a member not only enhances our own credentials, but also provides additional resources and valuable media industry associates that will undoubtedly add value to the current services we offer our clients.”
Spannerworks is a search-led digital marketing agency, specialising in natural search optimisation, paid search advertising, content and social media. The company was founded in the UK in 1997 and acquired by US digital marketing agency iCrossing in February 2007. Spannerworks currently employs 85 people in its Brighton and London offices, and is part of iCrossing Inc., the largest independent global digital marketing company. Arjo Ghosh is CEO of Spannerworks and their clients include Virgin Atlantic, HBOS and Nectar.

The 7 Stars
The 7 Stars is a media planning and buying agency founded in 2005 and based in London. It employs 14 members of staff and was founded by Collin Mills, Jenny Biggam, Mark Jarvis, Gareth Jones and Andy Brown. Their clients include Fish 4, GE Faabri and So Good International.
