IPA scoops Mark of Excellence at Association Excellence Awards
The awards were hosted by Michael Portillo at The QEII Centre and recognise individuals, teams and initiatives and highlight excellence in how associations operate and serve their members.
Best Training Initiative – Mark of Excellence - The IPA Foundation Certificate.
The IPA decided to provide an up-to-date portfolio of online qualifications that were easily accessible to members across the UK, could be studied in members own time, flexibly and provide exceptional learning value. The first of these to launch was the Foundation Certificate which then paved the way for six more qualifications.
The IPA found that because the industry had been fragmenting into more specialised agencies there was little understanding amongst new joiners to the industry about what role other disciplines and agencies played within the overall communications process. As clients still expected agencies to display an all round understanding of how to deliver a fully integrated communications campaign, new joiners needed to be educated to do this which led to the creation of The IPA Foundation Certificate.
Says Patrick Mills, Director of Professional Development, IPA, “The Foundation Certificate has become a rite of passage in our industry since the first exam in 2004. In January 2015, 1113 delegates sat the exam all over the UK, a vast number, which is testament to the quality of the learning and the industry’s commitment to developing its staff. We’re thrilled to be acknowledged in this way.”
