IPA Women of Tomorrow winners pledge to #RedrawTheBalance

The IPA’s Women of Tomorrow Award winners have all pledged to speak about their careers in advertising at their local state schools, as part of the Inspiring The Future initiative to encourage and inform young minds about the vast array of job opportunities available for women, and not just men.

The initiative has been highlighted in a recent #RedrawTheBalance campaign by MullenLowe London which sets out to reveal the reality of gender stereotyping and how much needs to be done to tackle the issue. Thecampaign asked school children aged between five and seven to draw a firefighter, a surgeon and fighter pilot – 61 pictures drawn were men and only five were female.

Says IPA President Tom Knox: “The IPA’s Women of Tomorrow winners are true exemplars of formidable female talent. So who better than to inform the nation’s youth of what fantastic opportunities exist for people from all backgrounds in adland? Thanks to all of these women for giving their time and support to such an important cause and I encourage more adlanders to follow suit.”
