Matt Simpson new chair of IPA Digital Media Group
The IPA has appointed Matt Simpson, Group Head of Digital at OMD, as Chairman of IPA Digital Media Group. He has succeeded Wayne Arnold, European Chief Executive of digital agency Profero who is relocating to New York to set up Profero’s US operation.
Previously Deputy Chair, Simpson takes the helm during a period of considerable IPA activity in the digital sector. He says, “There are plenty of major issues out there that we have been working on. Improving service levels amongst media owners, tightening up best practice in campaign delivery, addressing the need for more training, concerns over the dominance of Google and finding an effective online measurement tool, to name but a few. The Digital Media Group will continue to be a key player in ensuring sure that these and other areas are addressed.”
Says Nigel Gwilliam, Communities Senior Manager, IPA, “The online media market is maturing but there is still a huge amount for the Digital Media Group to do to continue raising industry standards. Fresh challenges are also presenting themselves as media owner consolidation accelerates. Matt has been a very active member for a number of years and we are very fortunate to have him taking the helm of the DMG."
Alongside the media group, IPA Digital has a Digital Creative Group; chaired by Lee Wright, Managing Director of Dare, and an IPA Search Group; chaired by Arjo Ghosh, CEO of iCrossing.
