Memorial service to be held for Keith and Anna Courtney
A memorial service is to be held for Keith Courtney, award-winning former International Creative Director of Publicis and one of the industry’s top creative talents, and his wife Anna, at St. Georges Church, St. George Street, W1 at 2.00pm on Friday, 6th June. Keith and his wife were tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in Cornwall in March of this year.
Adam Kean, Creative Director at Publicis, who worked with Courtney, said “Keith was an incredibly loquacious character - he had a tremendous amount of energy. He was hugely loved here and he knew everybody.”
Courtney enjoyed a busy and highly successful career in the advertising industry. His first job was at Gold Greenlees Trott, followed by three years at WCRS, where he worked on Carling Black Label. He later worked at Simons Palmer Denton Clemmow and Johnson. He then moved to Lowe Howard Spink as a board director, but after a year he left to freelance, before joining K Advertising. In 1996 he became the firm's creative director, and was at the time, the youngest creative director in London. He left to join Leagas Shafron just before Saatchi & Saatchi's decision to close K, following its takeover. He joined Publicis in 1998, where he worked until 2006. Since leaving Publicis, he has lived in Cornwall, working on the restoration of an old church.
The memorial service is open to all and will last around 50 minutes, followed by drinks at The Masons Arms, 38 Maddox Street.
The organisers request no flowers, but donations for the church and the choir are welcomed and should be made payable via cheque, or bank transfer, to David Balko.
