Nineteen pass IPA’s highest training qualification - IPA Excellence Diploma

Nineteen candidates have successfully completed the third IPA Excellence Diploma, with four distinctions, twelve credits and three passes. The Diploma is the IPA’s highest qualification and challenges candidates to develop a personal vision for how communications can build brands. The graduation ceremony took place last night (27th November 2008) at the IPA.

Nineteen candidates have successfully completed the third IPA Excellence Diploma, with four distinctions, twelve credits and three passes. The Diploma is the IPA’s highest qualification and challenges candidates to develop a personal vision for how communications can build brands. The graduation ceremony took place last night (27th November 2008) at the IPA.

The rigorous 15-month programme, sponsored by DDS, is designed for individuals with at least three to fivwillshie years’ experience who wish to push their thinking forward beyond their own discipline. Each candidate completes six core modules, with 1500-2000 word assignments per module, and a final assignment of 5000-7000 words, the best of which will be published as a Campaign supplement in January 2009.

I can now undertake any project knowing that I have massive insight and knowledge to draw from.”

Said Alex Dunsdon, Business Director, M&C Saatchi and winner of the ‘DDS Award for Outstanding Body of Work’, “Since completing the IPA Excellence Diploma, I feel more confident about the job. You go into a meeting feeling like you know what you’re talking about.”

The IPA launched the Excellence Diploma in 2004, under the presidency of Stephen Woodford, to raise the real and perceived professionalism and value of marketing communications. Diploma modules cover: the role of brands, people and brands, brands and channel thinking, brands and creativity, brands and measurement, and brands and leadership. Candidates are given a mentor from their agency for support and to help them put the thinking into practice.
