Rik Haslam to chair Direct Marketing group
The IPA Direct Marketing group strives to bring together different specialisms in order to share valuable knowledge about issues occurring within the discipline. Specifically, the group aims to highlight these issues by raising the awareness of successful creative DM campaigns, and by commissioning and using research to expand understanding of how to engage intelligently with the consumer.
Says Haslam, “I can't imagine a better time to be given the privilege of chairing the Direct Marketing group. Data-driven creative agencies are now truly seizing the opportunity to create connected brand experiences that deliver measurable and profitable outcomes for clients. We've got a fantastically diverse group of agencies on the group and together we aim to showcase how digital and direct agencies are increasingly creating the most powerful connected ideas. We're also developing a gold standard to measure and identify the brands that are most successfully re-engineering themselves for our connected age. And finally we're producing valuable training resources to help agency staff across all disciplines learn more about how to embrace and exploit big data.”
Rik Haslam’s biography
Rik is currently Chief Creative Officer at Rapp, with 20 years digital and direct experience at top ten agencies. He is viewed as a change agent and inspirational leader, by those who have worked with him. In addition to being at the forefront of digital marketing since its inception, he is also a fully integrated thinker having worked in ATL, direct and publishing in start-ups, large independents and network agencies, including Ogilvy, RAPP and Proximity. Rik specialises in driving innovation across agencies and client businesses to deliver truly engaging experiences.
