Sudler & Hennessey win Pip Award for Young Talent at IPA Best of Health Show 2017

Cathy McManus and Sam Cavenagh of Sudler & Hennessey were awarded the Pip Award for Young Talent for their outstanding campaign idea to help young teenagers dealing with anxiety for MeeTwo at the IPA Best of Health Show 2017.

The world-renowned industry awards, which celebrate the best creative work in healthcare advertising, took place at the Wellcome Collection tonight (21st November).

The 2017 Pip Award, in partnership with Pimp My Cause and MeeTwo, challenged new creatives to come up with innovative ways to encourage teenagers to use the MeeTwo app when seeking support and advice for everyday worries.

McManus and Cavenagh’s ‘MeeTwo Time’ campaign compares the embarrassment people can feel around anxiety with the embarrassment we feel when discussing using the bathroom. The idea consists of TV and Spotify adverts explaining how important ‘letting it out’ is, backed up by posters in public restrooms encouraging teenagers to share their concerns anonymously using the MeeTwo app.

Sadie Mayes and Laura Banks of ICC Health were Highly Commended by the judges for their entry ‘Express Yourself’.

In total, five entries won Gold, 17 were awarded Silver, and 24 collected Bronze at the awards. AMV BBDO won the night’s Best of Show, for their Libresse/Bodyform campaign ‘Blood’.

Says Chaka Sobhani, Chair of Judges and Chief Creative Officer, Leo Burnett; “The Pip Award gives young creatives a great opportunity to lead on a campaign. This year’s brief was particularly interesting, outreaching to teens in order to deal with real concerns. Cathy and Sam’s entry was insightful, on message and creatively executed; suggesting that everyone needed a little MeeTwo Time.”
