Who has tweeted to triumph?
The competition asked followers to tweet a career tip which has helped in their professional development.
The winner was Dan Cunningham of Gyro (@Dan_FranDisco) with the tip: "Have a point of view. Stand behind it not because you think it is right but because you are not afraid of it being wrong."
A selection of entries are below:
“You have 2 ears and 1 mouth. Use them in that proportion!” Adam Blaynee, Tangible (@AdamBlaynee).
“Never take no from someone who can't say yes.” James Price, MBA (@jamesWprice).
“First they ignore you, then they will laugh at you, then they will fight you and then you win. So don't give up.” Kamila Janeckova, Ogilvy (@KamilaJaneckova).
The competition celebrated the launch of the IPA’s new summer and autumn training programme. The new programme offers sessions throughout June – November 2013, each giving participants the skills and confidence to further develop their careers.
Subjects include project management, account management and strategic skills, handling difficult people, coding, media research, making creative briefs, planning in a digital age, and more. The majority of the courses are half day ‘energisers’, offering short sharp learning on core skills.
Says Patrick Mills, Director of Professional Development, IPA: “In response to requests from our membership we have put on a range of short courses that are accessible in terms of time and price, and cover themes that are vital in the fast paced world in which we work. These half-day energisers are a great opportunity to brush up on skills and confidence. Congratulations to Dan for winning a free place on a course his choice.”
