Assistant Media Planner/Buyer

Job description

We are looking to hire an Assistant Planner/Buyer who is either new to the industry but has in depth knowledge of the UK media landscape (offline and online) or someone with any agency experience who is looking to work on more clients in multiple industries, all media channels and generally a more varied day-to-day work experience.
Your primary responsibility is to support the Media Planning/Buying team with developing effective media plans and execute media buying strategies to reach target audiences through channels such as television, print, radio, out-of-home (OOH), cinema and online channels. You will collaborate closely with clients and media vendors to ensure the successful implementation of campaigns that meet client objectives and maximise ROI.


Key Responsibilities:

Research and Analysis:
- Assist in conducting market research to understand target demographics, market trends, and media consumption habits.
- Compile data and insights to support the development of media plans and buying strategies.
- Analyse competitor advertising activities to identify opportunities and challenges.

Media Planning Support:
- Aid in the development of media plans under the guidance of senior team members.
- Assist in drafting media recommendations and presentations for client review.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary input for media planning activities.

Media Buying Assistance:
- Support the media buying process by assisting in negotiations with media vendors to secure ad placements and rates.
- Help monitor media schedules and placements to ensure accuracy and compliance with campaign requirements.
- Assist in the trafficking of ad materials and ensuring timely delivery to designated media outlets.

Campaign Analysis:
- Assist in tracking and analyzing campaign performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
- Help prepare post-campaign reports and presentations for clients, highlighting key outcomes and learnings.


Qualifications/Requirements:

- Degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or related field preferred but not required.
- Any UK agency experience preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and trends.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong Mathematic skills.
- Enthusiasm to learn and grow in the media world.

- 20 days annual excluding all national bank holidays.
